Help & FAQs
This page should answer most of your questions regarding ordering springs from the JBSprings48.com website. However, if you don’t find the answer to your question here, please contact us.
You may also find our series of videos for helping you at various stages of the spring design and specification process. You can view all of these here.
The solid height/length specified will be a reference-only measurement. Ideally springs should not work too close to their solid height as this can reduce lifespan and also mean that load calculations will be less reliable. Please contact us if further information on this is required.
Yes. Our Springtelligence Videos will tell you everything you need to know about springs and will aid you in the specification process. You can view them here.
We have widened the parameters on the ‘copy sample’ path to allow you to design an overstressed spring. This is because if you have a sample of the spring in front of you it is highly likley that it works. It is not advisable to design a spring that is overstressed because it will reduce the life of the spring.
We do not want to let you design a bad spring therefore if you are copying a design from a drawing or designing a new spring from scratch using the ‘copy design’ or ‘new design’ paths then the site will not allow you to make an overstressed spring.
If you wish to make a spring that is overstressed or are unsure of the best way to design your spring please contact us and we will be happy to help you design the most efficient spring for your use.
